Summary of Job Purpose:
CH2M HILL has been appointed as the Programme Manager for the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) to assist with the implementation of its Strategic Tunnel Enhancement Programme (STEP). STEP is one part of ADSSC’s overall capital investment program. The primary components of STEP include:
Approximately 40-km deep tunnel sewer and appurtenances
Over 50km of link sewers connecting the existing sewerage system to the new deep tunnel sewer
One new tunnel sewer pumping station
CH2M HILL is looking for experienced candidates to join our team in the role of Quantity Surveyor (QS). The QS’s role is to fulfill the contract administration (post contract) of the Link Sewer Contracts LS-01 & 02 and to report to CH2M HILL's Senior Quantity Surveyor on the processing of payment applications, contract variations and claims and any other QS functions undertaken on the contracts. The QS will perform his duties in a manner that promotes progress of the work, while ensuring compliance with all aspects of the Contract. The QS will be required to become intimately familiar with Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Department (ADSSC) processes and procedures applicable to the contract administration of both construction contracts.
Experience with pipejacking and microtunnelling is preferred but not essential.
Specialiszed Skills:
Experience of administering Design and Build contracts using FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
Good commercial knowledge of underground works programmes.
Computer literate – proficient in programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Competent in preparing Engineer’s Interim Payment Valuation Certificates and presenting work in a clear, concise and logical manner.
Culturally aware - used to handling a multi-cultural, multi-religious staff.
Good team player with high energy levels.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements for underground construction.
Key Duties:
Engage with the Resident Engineer’s Site Team on a month to month basis and confirm the value of work to be certified by the Engineer against the contractor’s interim progress payment applications received
Conduct joint inspections of contractor’s materials stored on site for progress payment certification purposes
Prepare and process for formal sign off and issue, the Engineer’s Interim Payment Certificate for the contractor’s interim progress payment applications received
Evaluate contract variations and loss & expense claims
Review contractor’s monthly declarations of Contractor’s Plant & Equipment brought onto site and confirm the values claimed to the Owner Controlled Insurance Policy (OCIP) insurers via the OCIP broker
Fulfil any other QS duties as may be required and directed by the Senior QS or Contract RE for the contract administration of the Link Sewer contracts
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying. Other related engineering degrees will be considered with sufficient experience working in the capacity
