Agriculture Engineer

The position is responsible for coordinating all agriculture activities (including planting, irrigation works, soil and water conservation etc.) on assigned project(s) including the planning, designing, execution and control of assigned work and monitoring for compliance with consultant / client requirements.
Prepare and review agricultural engineering requirements of project to include preliminary design, engineering calculations, plant, soil, equipment and material selection etc.
Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, design layouts and other visual aids and communicate the same to the concerned project staff in order to improve their understanding of the work to be performed
Oversee the organization, administration and coordination of all elements involved in agriculture works - labour, materials, equipment, supplies, plants, technology, methods and time in order to complete the assigned activities on schedule, within the budget and according to specific standards of quality performance
Monitor all agriculture works according to the approved project requirements; identify and rectify non-conformances (if any) immediately; ensure that all blueprints, designs, drawings etc. are continuously updated to reflect the current status of the project
Review the BOQ and detailed drawings; prepare agriculture design / drawings and carryout the required calculations; establish the specific agriculture requirements with the consultant / client
Carryout surveys / site visits to gather field data (including contours, soil, ecology, buildings, road etc.) and prepare technical agriculture specifications, wherever required
Liaise with architects and other engineers on the project to coordinate agricultural issues and determine the best practices to meet the needs of the consultant / client
Review and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids to check for accuracy in calculations and also ensure that all consultant / client requirements as specified in the BOQ are appropriately reflected in the agriculture diagrams / designs
Determine plant, material and equipment best suited to meet the agriculture works requirements; liaise with the concerned supervisor to ensure that appropriate plant, materials and equipment are being utilized for agriculture works
Ensure that all agriculture works are being carried out according to the project schedule, within the specified budget and conform to standards of quality and performance;
Identify non conformances and ensure their timely rectification; escalate critical issues instantly to the Landscape and Irrigation Manager / Project Manager for immediate resolution
Carryout project site visits to check for any deviations / modifications / changes in agriculture works; liaise with the Landscape and Irrigation Manager / Project Manager to ensure that any design changes are duly approved by the consultant / client
Ensure that all agriculture works are approved by the quality control function and the consultant / client prior to starting subsequent activities; make sure that any non conformances identified during inspection are rectified and their acceptance from the consultant / client has been obtained
Refer all variation orders / CVIs to the Landscape and Irrigation Manager / Project Manager for official approval prior to incorporating them in agriculture works
Liaise with the Quantity Surveyor to ensure that all agriculture work that has been completed and approved by the consultant / client is included in the project bill.
Provide all necessary supporting documentation to the Quantity Surveyor to be attached with the project bill
