Job Description
To ensure effective and efficient transaction processing as per laid down processes and procedures in order to manage operational risk and enhance bank's profitability, reputation and quality customer service
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Process all customer clearing cheques with high level of accuracy and within agreed TAT
2. To understand and abide to CBO clearing house rules.
3. Return cheques with invalid details or technical issues.
4. Despatch advice for customer for the return cheques
5. Reverse CSA entries which has been caused by inward clearing upload.
6. Credit customer for outward clearing and ensure all cheques are encoded accurately
7. Ensure proper validation is done for inward cheques
8. Ensure all dishonour cheques are reported to CBO through cheque return system on daily basis.
9. To recover charges on dishonoured cheques due to lack of funds
10. Ensure Clearing accounts balance upon completion of Clearing process
11. Processing of foreign cheques (CPs and OBCs)
12. Perform end of day reconciliation to ensure that all cheques received from customers have been processed in accordance to agreed TAT
13. Perform other CMO duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications & Skills
* College education
* Good command of English
* Sound knowledge of the principles and practice of banking acquired through a professional qualification or an in-depth exposure to banking practices
* A high degree of computer literacy
