Description and Desired Qualifications
Due to ongoing growth we are searching for a Geotechnical Leader to join our Doha office.
Provide Senior leadership for Geotechnical and tunnel functions to the Qatar office, supporting all of the business groups in the office including Transportation, Water and Power, and Property development.
Manage a growing team of geologists, geotechnical engineers and tunneling engineers including resource scheduling of the staff. Interact with other geotechnical teams in the region to ensure best use of team.
Provide a geotechnical Advisor role to projects in Qatar.
Ensure that all work follows the requirements of the Halcrow QA/QC procedures
Site supervision work of ground investigations and construction work to provide value for our clients in ensuring quality of works.
Meet with clients and potential clients for existing and new works.
Basic Qualifications
BA or MSc in Eng Geology or Geotechnical Engineering
Minimum 15 years experience in all aspects of geotechnical projects including site investigation and design (concept and detailed).
Experience in environmental surveys preferable plus
Experience in earthworks and project construction activities a plus
Experience in Hydro-geology preferable
The candidate must have an excellent technical capability as well good safety, commercial, and procedural awareness
The candidate must have very good communication skills.
As local geotechnical team leader will also need to work closely with the Regional Geotechnical Manager and provide mentoring and professional advice to local staff members.
Likely to be project manager for projects that are geotechnical in nature including management of subcontracts.
