About Your Job:
Qatar Duty Free is seeking proactive, experienced and energetic Category Manager who would be responsible for both Retail and Food & Beverage category purchasing at Qatar Duty Free. You will ensure that sufficient stocks are available at all times to satisfy the projected sales growth. You will source, research and review new product opportunities and present range proposals to management for review. This will involve a working knowledge of all food categories including bespoke epicurean, with a clear understanding of the benefits of products from particular countries, regions, farms and producers to ensure authenticity and securing the very best quality and value. Analyze performance with a view to focusing the range and maximizing profitability for the company. Responsibility for margin and cost of sale related expenditure, together with consistency in availability, supply and particular focus on product shelf and expiry date management
Looking at the synergies you will be negotiating in the best interest of the company with international and local suppliers regarding selection, price, terms, deliveries, freight, insurance, quality special discounts, extended credit and general marketing support, strategy and training. Your remit will be to source and develop a product range, ensuring the correct pricing structure to achieve the budgeted profit margins. An awareness of the latest innovations, trends and product companies is essential together with a good knowledge of dietary and nutritional aspects of the range is essential and an understanding of Arabic importation rules would be advantageous. You will also be required to study stock reports, mark-up analysis, sales reports, accounts statements and passenger statistics to recommend appropriate action.
About You:
We are looking for charismatic leaders who will address issues in a pragmatic manner, consider their colleagues well being and strive for the very best in everything they do. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a strong leader whilst possessing exceptional presentation skills. A minimum of 7 years of job related experience within a high end connoisseur retail environment and an associate degree in either or both a retail or hospitality field.
