CH2M HILL Assurance Director - Doha, Qatar



Project Info & Job Purpose:

Qatar will be hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and become the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme will be part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure, competition and noncompetitive venues.

CH2M HILL is the programme management (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition venues, training sites, associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works, acting on behalf of the client Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee


To provide strong overall management to the broader programme assurance effort on the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Programme.



To ensure the highest possible standard of advice is provided to all the management and delivery teams to enable the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Programme to establish themselves as industry leaders.



In conjunction with the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ Head of Assurance identify, develop, publish and monitor HSEQ&S management programs.



Provide assurance through PMC and Project Management HSEQ&S audits, monitoring and reporting arrangements.



Provide visible engagement with delivery teams to ensure they have suitable HSEQ&S provisions. Provide coaching and support to stakeholders and be an ambassador for the vision of the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and the initiatives of the Programme.



Work together with government authorities, national committees and key stakeholders to establish effective strategies, common standards, and their coordinated implementation



Promote continuous improvements wherever they arise within the programme, supply chain and all stakeholders.



Co ordinate activitites of the HSEQ&S Assurance, so that they align with 2022 FIFA World Cup™ objectives and project delivery requirements.



Lead and co ordinate working approaches of the Project Manager’s HSEQ&S teams

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1. To monitor external developments and legislative requirements and translate these into the PMC HSEQ&S policy, ensuring continued compliance, industry leadership, innovation, and best practice.

2. To work with peers in other disciplines to ensure coherent and integrated polices and systems are created that avoid unnecessary duplication and dissipation of effort

3. To work with the PMC team leaders to build knowledge and awareness of issues, approaches, techniques and methods.

4. To undertake HSEQ&S reviews of pre-qualifications, tenders, proposed work packages, supplier proposals and start-up meetings.

5. To provide a source of specialist HSEQ&S advice and support to the programme and each of its delivery projects.

6. To identify potential and future strategic risks and how they should be mitigated and escalated. Ensure mitigations are effectively managed.

7. To carry out or contribute to accident investigations where specialist expertise is needed in major incidents or occurrences.
