Description and Desired Qualifications

Senior Pavement Engineer - Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose:

To assist in identifying needs and providing cost effective technical solutions to maintain or improve the pavement asset to the standards agreed considering the needs of key stakeholders to budget and programme.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

To assist the Pavement Design Team Leader manage the resources in the Team to deliver the agreed outcomes for pavements schemes
To assist the Pavement Design Team Leader in ensuring that the Team have adequate training and resources.
To assist the Pavement Design Team Leader manage external resources used by the Pavements Team
To review designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables for pavements schemes
To allocate tasks to other members of the Pavements Team and monitor progress
To monitor the designs produced to ensure they meet the design briefs
To ensure designs are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence
To seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct them
To ensure the quality system is actively applied to all pavements schemes
To assist in the delivery of the detailed design of the surfacing aspects of highways schemes and assist in the provision of pavement advice for other disciplines and design and construction activities to deliver the outcomes agreed to programmes and budget.
To provide Professional and Technical Excellence in pavement engineering.
To report to the SRE on on performance against budget and programme
To understand the condition of the pavement asset and identify areas where it needs improvement.
To allocate tasks to other members of the Pavement Teams and report to the Pavements Team Leader on resourcing issues
To manage projects within the Pavements Team.
Basic Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Engineering Degree with over 10 years relevant experience
Significant relevant experience on site, ideally on large scale projects in the Middle East
Needs a clear understanding of the Client focused approach
Must take active steps for training and self-development,
Should be capable of building trust in works relations.
