• The SGD Project represents a new era is gas development in Abu Dhabi
• The sourness of the feed gases, along with the size of facilities, will set a new
benchmark for the world gas processing and treating industry.
• ADNOC is undertaking the project in order to increase production of gas for domestic
use.
Owner / Client: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) created a new company to
manage and operate the SGD Project - the Al Hosn Gas
Basic Function & scope:
The commissioning phase of the work generally commences shortly before mechanical
Completion and terminates prior to the introduction of feed stock. It may include final
checkout and cleanup, run-ins, charging of catalysts, flushing, purging, and energizing
systems as required by the Prime Contract. Generally, the Client is responsible for
commissioning. However, the Client may contract with Fluor to provide commissioning
services, construction support, or Engineering personnel to assist in the commissioning
activities.
• Direct and supervise electrical engineers, providing expertise and ensures the application
of correct standards in the design and development of projects associated with gas
processing, production and export.
• Responsible for basic electrical design, selection of components, bill of material, singleline
diagrams, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, and arrangement drawings for use in
manufacturing of medium- and low-voltage switchgear, motor control center and
substations.•
Principal Duties and Responsibilities under the direction of the Commissioning Manager:
• To develop and ensure that high-class electrical and power engineering specifications,
standards, and procedures are delivered and applied by Consultants / Contractors on all
phases of the Projects.
• To review and approve engineering design activities performed by EPC Contractor and
Consultants for all Electrical and power generation and distribution systems related
activities.
• To ensure uniformity and standardization compatibility at optimum levels in design and
engineering in all phases of the project and update company Specifications by
incorporating the lessons learned.
• To audit installations during construction, witness Factory and Site Acceptance Tests,
pre-commissioning and commissioning of equipment / systems and assures that the
installation / performance are in accordance with specifications.
• To witness and approve the FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) for major electrical
equipment.
• Follow up with the EPC contractor construction, planning and progress on daily basis.
• Support the effort of resolving the pending and punched items during project stages.
• Fully understands the company HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as
they relate to area of responsibility. Ensures that work under control is performed in a
safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Ensure safe, economic and technically sound decisions related to area of responsibility
during the EPC phase.
• Provide on-site electrical engineering consultation during construction, precommissioning
and commissioning stage.
• Participate in training and development of assigned UAE national employees in the
project.
• Perform additional work activities as directed by line manager.
