Job Purpose:
As part of our Transportation Business Group you will deliver a high quality integrated transportation project in one of the following areas of long distance, high speed, freight, metro and/or light rail systems. These projects are in support of our clients’ visions and the development of their growing and developing cities and economies in the Middle East and Africa region.
As an important provider of engineering services with an established office, reputation and track record in the region for delivery of significant infrastructure projects, “Halcrow part of the CH2M HILL family” is supporting our clients to provide program delivery services for the future of their new transport networks.
The role of Tunnels Interface Manager will lead act as the interface between the Doha based management team and the Melbourne based tunnels design teams. He/she will be a tunneling design professional, and be a good communicator able to transmit and transfer design issues to the teams below him/her.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Reports to the Engineering Manager and coordinates the tunneling issues that effect other parts of the design
With guidance from the Engineering Manager, responsible for the transfer of design management to the off-shore design teams
Using quality protocols set up by the Quality Manager to ensure technical compliance and deliverable tracking.
Ensuring timely delivery of the designs, working with the Project Manager’s programming team
Delegation of Client instructions to the relevant design teams located in Melbourne and other locations as appropriate.
Day-to-day responsibility for coordinating the output of the Melbourne team, and ensuring any issues are raised as necessary to the Engineering Manager.
Provide technical advice/recommendations, based on Middle East knowledge, to the off-shore design teams.
Be the local expert point of contact for any design issues.
Basic Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Proven experience of working on major tunnelling projects for rail.
Recent experience on D&B project(s) ideally
At least 10 years working in tunneling design
Previous experience of managing a team of design staff
At least 5 years Middle East experience.
Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering essential
Chartered Engineer (ICE or equivalent)
