Monitor, and provide statistically analysis of process parameters including trends, statically significant changes to the process inputs and interaction resultants for maintaining quality levels and continuous improvement Assist in the design of product and tooling for best manufacturability practices utilizing know design standards, casting simulation for flow/solidification, and lessons learned.
Assist in design of initial die cast process parameters (Gates, runners, speeds, pressures) Cooling statistical analysis
Assist in design of casting development planTiming, samples/DOE's, evaluation plan and statistical analysis
Assist in development of PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Set-up, Check Sheets;assure that the process failure modes have redundant quality system and product audits to assure zero defects at our customers.
Assist in development of the process engineering controls system including data/document control, fast response team for corrective action.
Assist in continuous development of new technology to differentiate in quality, delivery and cost Assist in continuous monitoring and development of safety and environmental practices.
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Advanced technical degree preferred;
Knowledge of or hands-on experience in either ZINC or die cast aluminum (or both) manufacturing processes, die design, process control, product design standards, and quality systems.
Strong knowledge of casting solidification science and casting defect formation mechanisms
Advanced training and experience with mechanical design tools & Pro Engineer;
Strong working knowledge of die casting alloys (aluminum, zinc)
Experience with solid modeling, die cast simulation analysis, CNC tool path analysis, CNC machined & mechanical press
Project management with working knowledge of MS Project or comparable PM software;Advanced DFx tools;PFMEA;Demonstrates strong problem solving skills;Proficient in computer skills;FLOW 3D software/analysis or equivalent simulation software;Strong communication skills (collaboration, presentation, & proposal generation)
