Key Roles & Responsibilities
- As a Senior Relationship Manager within our Global Corporates business, you will be responsible for pro-actively establishing, developing and maintaining a team portfolio of corporate clients.
- You will ensure that new or ongoing relationships with existing clients attain maximum revenue generation within an acceptable risk profile requirements by carrying out detailed financial analysis of client accounts and developing proposals within defined Bank procedures.
- There will be a need to create structured trade finance and treasury transactions and facilities using analytical and constructive thinking with a large degree of evaluative judgement to meet the client needs.
- You will need to further adopt appropriate relationship management strategies to protect the Bank's interest at all times e.g. identifying potential defaults in order to meet the clients expectations of the relationship, with differing situations often requiring varied styles of creation or identification and selection of appropriate solutions.
- The successful candidate will market to existing and potential clients the full complement of products and services offered by the Bank, including Global Markets, Consumer Banking and Wealth Management and promote within the Bank opportunities by referring potential relationships to other countries in order that the Bank may benefit on a Group basis.
- You will be required to assess and approve limit applications granted under discretionary powers and recommend applications for higher level approval where appropriate.
- Responsible for Managing training and appraisals and develop a dedicated team in order to develop client skills and motivate the team to be high performers as inline with job and team objectives.
- You will contribute to the overall strategy formulation in discussions with the Unit Head, bringing to bear market knowledge, competitor analysis, trade flows and innovative 'deal' structures in order that the strategy reflects market.
- Monitor market and competitor activities and strategies to ensure that opportunities for new business and not overlooked and market share is retained.
- Identifies through account management potential defaulting accounts and investigates through closer management of the account cause for concern and recommends to the Unit Head appropriate remedial action.
- Manages defaulting accounts by devising an account management strategy e.g., period, suspension of interest, recovery of full debt and then implements the plan with the assistance of external bodies and agencies e.g. police and courts thus minimising losses to the Bank.
- Ensures that all 'team' related administrative functions including file maintenance, regular stock inspections, periodic appraisals, training and staff development are competently performed.
- Ensure compliance to Group Operational Risk Policy, Anti-Money Laundering Prevention policy and other relevant policies. Cooperate with the Money Laundering Prevention Officers (Unit, Business & Country) to ensure compliance to internal and external controls and procedures for money laundering prevention.
Qualifications & Skills
- Preferably degree or equivalent education within Finance / Economics / Business Administration - or related fields
- Strong and demonstrable relationship skills
- An understanding of trade finance and treasury products is highly desirable
- Strong and demonstrable team management skills
- Excellent risk and governance awareness
- Significant Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, within preferably a multi-national organisation
- A familiarity with the MENA market will be advantageous
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluent Arabic language skills prefer
